Islamabad: In accordance with the directives of Captain (Retired) Anwar ul Haq, the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), an anti-encroachment operation is underway in full swing in Islamabad.
The Enforcement Directorate, with support from various departments, conducted a mega operation near NUST University Sector I-12/2 on Wednesday, targeting a long-standing illegal Afghan settlement. Heavy machinery was deployed, resulting in the demolition of numerous rooms and large livestock pens.
As a result of this operation, 250 kanals of land were reclaimed and handed over to the Sector Development, allowing for accelerated developmental work.
Furthermore, with the assistance of local administration and Islamabad Police, Margalla Town Phase II near the Agricultural Development Bank plots, which had been illegally occupied for an extended period, witnessed a comprehensive operation by CDA. Using heavy machinery, scores of structures and livestock pens were razed, and government land was successfully recovered.
Moreover, in response to public complaints in the Kernal Sher Khan Avenue vicinity near Mandi Mor, authorities took prompt action. They effectively cleared the road of obstructions and seized six truckloads of illicit goods, effectively addressing encroachments on both sides of the avenue.
