ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Captain (R) Noor Ul Amin Mengal, announced on Tuesday that all ongoing development projects in Islamabad will be completed by June and July of this year.
Among the projects set for completion are the Bara Kahu Bypass, Margalla Avenue, and IJ Principal Road, with a focus on the quality development of C sectors.
During a press conference, Mengal emphasized the importance of preserving green areas in the federal capital, including the national park and public parks.
To support this effort, the CDA has established a Green Fund, where a portion of each development project’s budget will be reserved under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Furthermore, the CDA has identified 300 private schools and is relocating them by offering plots at rebate rates. These plots will be allotted at 55 per cent rebate on the DC rate for a lease of 10 years.
To tackle corruption and ensure compliance with building plans, the CDA is withdrawing powers from Building Control Inspectors and instead delegating teams of Building Control wing, each headed by an assistant director, to inspect commercial and residential buildings for plan approvals and illegal construction activities.
Mengal also announced that the amenities plots for graveyards, schools, parks, playgrounds, and more will be transferred to the CDA to prevent violations of the layout plan.
As of now, 300 private schools have been identified for relocation, with plots to be given on a 33-year lease.
