ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Captain (R) Noor Ul Amin Mengal met with housing societies and high-rise building owners in Islamabad on Sunday to mandate emergency stairs.
Relevant officials of the concerned departments were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, CDA Chairman Captain (R) Noor Ul Amin Mengal gave a deadline of 6 months to the owners of high-rise buildings in Islamabad to construct emergency stairs outside the building’s console.
After 6 months, legal action will be taken against non-compliant owners.
The meeting also decided that emergency stairs should be constructed in four-story or higher buildings in Islamabad.
The CDA Chairman further directed that future constructions must be designed with open space for front and back parking according to the plot size.
The meeting also decided to establish an express counter for transferring property in one day. The Chairman of CDA also suggested that the design committee meeting should be held every week instead of every two weeks.
The meeting was concluded with the hope that it would lead to the resolution of issues and the development of Islamabad.
