Islamabad: Captain (Retired) Anwar-ul-Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), held a meeting with Dr. Nadim-ul-Haq, Vice-Chancellor of the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) on Friday at the CDA headquarters. The meeting was attended by several CDA officers, including those responsible for technology, digitalization, planning, and design.
During the meeting, they discussed the potential collaboration between Islamabad and the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE). It was highlighted that Islamabad could benefit from PIDE’s expertise in various areas, including digitalization initiatives and revising the city’s master plan to meet the evolving needs of its residents.
Captain Rtd. Anwar-ul-Haq emphasized the importance of leveraging PIDE’s knowledge to optimize the utilization of rooftops in commercial areas across Islamabad. He suggested conducting studies to explore these opportunities. Additionally, he underscored the role of PIDE in improving urban transportation, seeking their recommendations for enhancements in this sector.
Chairman CDA also addressed the parking challenges faced by Islamabad and proposed that PIDE’s expertise could play a crucial role in finding effective solutions to these issues, as well as enhancing various aspects of the city’s infrastructure. He designated PIDE as the focal point for addressing these matters.
Chairman of the Capital Development Authority expressed optimism about the potential collaboration, stating that by working together with PIDE, Islamabad could embark on various projects aimed at improving the city and providing its residents with superior facilities and services.
