In a recent development, Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has appointed Assistant Commissioners of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to oversee the expansion and rehabilitation work on the Islamabad Expressway.
Following his inspection of various development projects in Islamabad, including package one of the Islamabad Expressway, Randhawa emphasized the need for quality and timely completion of the work. He instructed officials from the CDA engineering wing to be present at project sites to monitor progress closely.
The CDA reported that 75% of the work on package one of the Islamabad Expressway, which includes the construction of a railway bridge up to Pak PWD housing scheme, has been completed. Randhawa stressed that the remaining work should be finished by the end of July 2024.
Randhawa also visited the expansion and rehabilitation work on Park Road, where he set a deadline of June 15, 2024, for completion. The total length of Park Road where expansion work is taking place is 7.2 kilometers. He was informed that 85% of the work on the western carriageway has been completed and emphasized the urgency of finishing work on shifting Iesco and other utility lines within five days.
