Islamabad, Pakistan: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board held its 13th meeting on Wednesday, chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting focused on various agenda items aimed at improving the financial health of the CDA and enhancing infrastructure development in Islamabad.
One of the key decisions made during the meeting was to revive the cinema industry in the city. The CDA Board directed officials to submit proposals for the redevelopment of plots previously allocated for cinema establishments. The goal is to introduce modern cinemas that meet international standards. Additionally, the Board approved the establishment of four more cinema sites in Islamabad.
To bolster the CDA’s financial position, the meeting approved placing the Resource Wing under the administrative control of the Member Finance. This move aims to achieve revenue targets, explore new revenue sources, and address loopholes in the revenue collection process. The Resource Wing is also expected to implement technology and modern practices in the financial and other matters of the authority.
In terms of infrastructure development, the CDA Board decided to hire a transaction advisor for the IT Park in Sector G-10. Furthermore, the Board approved the feasibility and design of the Islamabad Bus Terminal through the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
To improve the sewerage treatment system in Islamabad, the City Sewerage Division will now be under the administrative control of the Director General Water Management. This decision is expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of sewage treatment operations in the city.
Overall, the CDA Board meeting resulted in several important decisions that will contribute to the financial stability and infrastructure development of Islamabad. The revival of the cinema industry, financial reforms, and infrastructure projects are expected to have a positive impact on the city’s economy and quality of life.
