Islamabad: In a bid to enhance the beauty and greenery of Islamabad, Captain (Retired) Anwar ul Haq, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, has initiated a tree planting campaign across the city. This campaign, in collaboration with private sector partners, aims to plant trees in various locations, including parks, green belts, intersections, roads, and along streams.
On a recent Tuesday, a significant tree plantation effort took place at Islamabad Chowk, thanks to the joint efforts of the CDA’s Environment Wing and private sector contributors. Several tree varieties, such as Amaltas, Chir Pine, and Kachnar, were planted during this initiative. Notably, these trees were carefully chosen and stand at a height of 10 to 15 feet to ensure their successful growth.
This environmentally-friendly initiative underscores the importance of private sector involvement in fostering a greener and more sustainable Islamabad. Such collaborative efforts are greatly welcomed as they contribute positively to the city’s environment and overall aesthetics.
