ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday appointed Captain (R) Usman as the new Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman.
Capt. (R) Usman, a retired grade-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), previously served as the Chief Commissioner Lahore.
The previous Islamabad Commissioner, Amir Ali Ahmed, had requested to be relieved from his position due to his ailing health. His tenure oversaw the initiation of several multi-billion development projects.
Keeping in view Capt. (R) Usman’s successful campaigns in Lahore, the federal government had wanted to utilise his expertise in the capital city. However, concerned authorities do believe that a change in leadership is likely to halt momentum of the city’s development projects.
