KARACHI: Minister for Transport and Mass Transit of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah in an interview informed that bus corridor projects worth $1bn will be developed in Karachi to solve the commuting issues of the city.
While talking on the occasion, the minister informed that the Red Line project worth $550mn will be developed with the assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the work on the project will be started by this month.
Similarly, the minister told that another bus project worth $455mn will be developed with the assistance of the World Bank (WB).
As per the details, the fleet of the Red Line project will be comprised of 280 customised buses which will initially run on methane and later will be switched to batteries.
