Building plans: CDA collects Rs 21mn in 30 days

ISLAMABAD: Last month, Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Building Control Directorate collected a revenue of Rs21mn.

The spokesperson of the authority stated on Thursday that they collected the revenue by approving building plans, allotment of commercial charges, completion certificates, and other heads including fines owing to the non-conforming use.

He further added that the Building Control Directorate had collected over Rs 600,000 in the last 30 days, by the issuance of 15 completion certificates to the residential buildings. Whereas, funds amounting to over Rs12mn were generated through two commercial building plans.

Likewise, almost Rs 700,000 were collected after the approval of some 22 residential building plans, while more than Rs 6mn were obtained by the issuance of no objection certificates (NOCs) to five commercial buildings.

Similarly, the directorate gathered Rs 1mn as a result of the issuance of NOCs to 35 residential buildings.

The spokesperson further reported that the authority took steps to ensure financial discipline, and financially strengthen the authority, which resulted in a gradual increase in revenue. He said that instructions have been issued to ensure strict financial action, to make the authority financially stable.
