Islamabad: In order to ensure timely completion of the signal-free Islamabad Expressway project, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to construct a bridge on Korang River on a self-finance basis.
The project design from Koral to Rawat had been prepared and PC-1 already approved by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP). In regards to early approval from the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) the matter has been decided to be taken up with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms. A Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) grant of Rs500 million had been allocated for the project. The construction of this bridge is expected to ease difficulties and traffic congestion for commuters particularly from Koral Chowk to PWD Housing.
The meeting was attended by MNA Asad Umer, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz, MNA Raja Khuram Nawaz CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed and more.
