The Institute of Business Administration – IBA Karachi was founded in 1955 with the support of the University of Southern California’s Graduate School of Business Administration. The first batch of students enrolled in the MBA program in 1957.

Since then, the university has expanded its academic programs to include undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs. The IBA Karachi was declared as a degree-awarding institution by the Government of Sindh in 1994.

IBA has two campuses, one at the University of Karachi and the other in Sadar, Karachi. Currently, over 4,200 students have completed their BBA, BS and MBA degrees at this university.
