It boasts a highly qualified and experienced faculty, state-of-the-art facilities, and a vibrant student life on campus, making it one of the top choices for higher education in the country.

Fauji Foundation initiated the development of Foundation University Islamabad in October 2002, which operates under a Federal Charter. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has assigned the highest rating category, W4, to the university.
Moreover, FUI’s academic programs have received accreditation from several national bodies, such as Pakistan Medical Commission, Pakistan Engineering Council, National Computing Education Accreditation Council, National Business Education Accreditation Council, National Technology Council, and Pakistan Nursing Council.
The university prioritises partnerships and collaborations with other Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) at both national and international levels, as well as local communities and corporate sectors, especially those associated with Fauji Foundation industries.
To achieve this, FUI has signed multiple Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various public and private universities and organisations, both local and foreign. It is consistently making efforts to create a dynamic knowledge economy that benefits its students, faculty, and alumni.
For instance, it has signed an MOU with the University of Bedfordshire (UOB), UK, to establish a 3+1 transnational education program for students pursuing Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE), Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology.
The program entails completing the first three years of education at FUI and the final year at UOB. Graduates of the program will be eligible to receive a UOB-recognised degree, approved by the accrediting bodies of both the UK and Pakistan, and may receive a grant from UOB as well. All of these factors make Foundation University one of the top universities in Pakistan.
