In the last few years, Pakistan has witnessed a paradigm shift in the real estate sector as more people are investing in projects that are providing sustainable and smart living options. One such developer that is leading the way towards sustainable architecture and business practices in luxury real estate is 101 Group, which has launched Forest V, Pakistan’s largest pillarless luxury apartment complex and its first vertical forest that will provide a modern style of living to the residents.
Graana.com outlines the project’s details below and explains why industry leaders should focus on providing smart and sustainable living in Pakistan.
Sustainable architecture is a design approach that seeks to minimise the environmental impact of a building while maximising its energy efficiency and livability.
These buildings are designed to be more durable, comfortable, and efficient. They often have a variety of features and technologies that help reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint.
Some key principles of sustainable architecture include renewable energy sources and water-saving technologies, such as solar panels, low-flow fixtures and rainwater harvesting systems.
In addition to these technical considerations, sustainable architecture also focuses on the overall design and layout of a building. This includes the orientation of the building to the sun, the use of natural ventilation, and the integration of natural elements, such as plants and trees, that will improve the quality of life of the residents.
Climate change has had a huge global impact, including on Pakistan, which is quite evident from the devastating floods in the country in 2022.
With the increasing concern for the environment, many players in the real estate sector are now prioritising sustainable and smart living. The following is a list of ways sustainable architecture makes a difference.
One of the biggest benefits of sustainable architecture is that it reduces the environmental impact of the structures.
This includes reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, conserving water, and minimising waste. This helps create a more healthy planet for future generations.
Sustainable architecture can also have financial benefits, both for the building owner and for society as a whole. For example, investing in energy-efficient technologies and materials can help reduce energy costs and improve the bottom line.
These buildings can also be more valuable and have a longer lifespan, which can help reduce the overall cost of ownership.
Sustainable architecture can also have social benefits, for instance, improvement in the health and comfort of the building occupants, a boost in social interaction and community engagement, and an increase in accessibility for all people.
Sustainable architecture can also contribute to an overall improvement in the lifestyle of the residents. These structures are often more comfortable, healthier, and more efficient, which can lead to a better living experience.
Keeping the above in mind, 101 Group has introduced the first vertical forest project in Pakistan in the centre of Lahore with the group aiming to take sustainable and modern living to a whole new level.
The Forest V is designed by Marcus Wilkins of ARCHI-TEX, and features a biophilic interior design by Callie Van der Merwe of Design Partnership Australia.
This modern luxury building will feature a variety of trees, plants, shrubs, and moss that will create a lush and green environment for the residents.
This residential building will have a total floor space of over 500,000 square feet. It will have 87 spacious 1 to 4-bedroom apartments, duplex apartments, and the largest double-storey mega rooftop penthouse in Pakistan, which will have 25,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.
This modern luxury project will provide extensive views of Pakistan’s oldest golf course in Lahore Gymkhana. Along with the panoramic views of downtown Lahore, this purposefully designed residential space will come with a long line-up of luxury amenities, which include a swimming pool, world-class fitness centre and in-house cinema.
It will also have private hospitality lounges, short-term stay suites for guests, and a rooftop helipad. In addition to all these, the building will have a cigar and sports lounge and restaurants with menus created especially by Michelin-star chefs.
By embracing sustainable construction and development practices, 101 Group Global is setting a new standard in the real estate sector of Pakistan. They are taking steps to mitigate the effects of climate change by introducing projects like Forest V.
This complex will not only redefine the notion of luxury living but will also help in reducing pollution and improve air quality for the residents. According to an official statement released by the group, the building will sequester approximately 27 tonnes of CO2 and release close to 22 tonnes of fresh oxygen annually.
This project is launched specifically for overseas Pakistanis by 101 Group as they want to create a lifestyle that will exceed all their expectations.
