Central Hospital’s placement on Murree Road guarantees that it’s easily accessible for people seeking its complete medical services, whether you’re following the continuous hum of traffic or utilising Chandni Chowk as a familiar anchor.

Department of Anaesthesiology Intensive Care Unit & Pain

The Benazir Bhutto Hospital’s Anesthesiology & I.C.U. Department is a focal point for patient care, education, and teamwork. It offers round-the-clock emergency anaesthesia services and collaborates closely with all other hospital departments.

The department actively trains future physicians through a number of programmes, including the MCPS, FCPS, MS, and DA programmes, despite a personnel crisis. The department is committed to developing the future generation of anaesthesia professionals, as evidenced by the number of doctors enrolled in various programmes.

Department of Cardiology RMU

One of Punjab’s oldest government-run cardiac care facilities, the Cardiology Department of Rawalpindi Medical University has a long history. It serves a large geographic area and as a referral hospital for various heart diseases. The department’s primary facility, located within Benazir Bhutto Hospital, has 30 beds and uses cutting-edge non-invasive diagnostic methods.

Furthermore, a 10-bed CCU is furnished to track, identify, and treat various cardiac conditions. Over 10,000 patients seek cardiac care through the department’s emergency room and outpatient department each year; approximately 25% of these patients wind up in the hospital.

The department is well known for its constant dedication to providing quality cardiac treatment and for its attention to the well-being of its patients.

Department Of Dermatology R.M.U.

The dermatology department of Rawalpindi Medical University is expanding quickly and has a significant influence. Even though it was founded, it already has a group of experienced consultants. It works closely with Rutgers University to actively teach future dermatologists.

The department provides a wide range of operations, many of which are free, and sees 200–300 patients every day. It’s also becoming acknowledged for its research contributions.

E.N.T

In terms of providing all-encompassing care for disorders of the ears, nose, and throat, the B.B.H. Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (E.N.T.) is a pioneer. The professionals at hospital treat a wide range of conditions in both adults and children, such as complicated tumours, allergies, sinus problems, voice difficulties, throat and airway issues, hearing and balance impairments, and voice challenges.

Comprehensive services are provided by the department’s audiology unit, which also uses otoacoustic emissions for a novel newborn hearing screening programme.

Department of Psychiatry

The B.B.H. Department of Psychiatry provides more than just patient care. It is home to the esteemed Institute of Psychiatry, a partner with the Pakistan Medical Research Council (PMRC) and a World Health Organisation Collaborative Centre for Mental Health.

This organisation is at the forefront of mental health efforts, such as a federally funded project incorporating mental health services into primary care.

In addition, the institute partners with the British Council, Pakistan and maintains a robust research environment through its dedicated research cell. The yearly monetary prize given to exceptional young researchers demonstrates this dedication to research.

The department provides a wide range of training programmes, including doctor of physical therapy programmes, postgraduate fellowships in trauma surgery, and undergraduate studies in orthotics and prosthetics.

The department creates curricula and holds seminars, workshops, and other events to actively promote a culture of learning. With more than 50 peer-reviewed papers to its name, research is a key component of its purpose.

Through partnerships with groups like the Pakistan Thalassaemia Welfare Society and the Pakistan Haemophilia Foundation, the department broadens its scope of knowledge outside the classroom. Thanks to this alliance, patients with orthopaedic issues who have haemophilia or thalassemia will receive specialised care.

Gynecology & Obstetrics

The B.B.H. Gynaecology & Obstetrics Unit is essential to meeting Rawalpindi’s women’s healthcare needs. The gynaecology ward was recently moved to the ground level, significantly improving the facility and giving patients access to a more contemporary and comfortable setting.

This restoration was made possible thanks to kind gifts, including purchasing a new ultrasound machine. Furthermore, the operating and labour rooms have been renovated because of a contribution of Rs—3.7 million made by Dr. Muhammad Aslam, Chairman of the B.O.M.

Pediatric O.P.D.

The B.B.H. Paediatric O.P.D. has recently been redesigned! Thanks to recent department improvements, the paediatric block now has new paint. This endeavour shows the dedication of philanthropists to enhancing patient care, especially for younger guests.
