Okara: Up to 350 housing schemes have been declared illegal in the jurisdiction of seven municipal committees of the district and in rural areas in the revenue limits of Okara District Council.
The district administration has put a ban on issuing fard, a copy of register of rights to those whose land falls in illegal housing schemes. This has troubled those own land in the common khewat falling into the illegal housing scheme.
Due to a lengthy procedure, the land owners have demanded the offices of assistant directors of land revenue (ADLR) to display the list of banned housing schemes. They have suggested to ban only the owners of illegal businesses and not the whole khewat.
