ISLAMABAD: The Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has signed implementation agreements for 11 wind power projects with a capacity to generate 560 megawatts and contribute 1.8 billion units of clean energy annually, adding 30% to the existing share of renewable energy by 2030.
The completion of the projects, due by 2021, will bring around an investment of $700 million that will boost the economy of the country.
Briefing the gathering at the signing ceremony, AEDB Chief Executive Officer Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar acknowledged the efforts of the private sector through which clean and cheaper electricity will be provided to the consumers of Pakistan.
This initiative will play a vital role to bring down the overall basket tariff and also reduce import bills.
