500+ Overseas Pakistanis Applied for Islamabad’s New Sector C 14

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced that overseas Pakistanis will be prioritized in the allotment of plots in Sector C-14, with local applicants placed on a waiting list. A CDA official disclosed that 500 applications have been received from overseas applicants for the 238 available plots, indicating strong demand. “Balloting will prioritize overseas applicants, with most plots expected to be allocated to them,” the official stated.

The official also highlighted the seriousness of the applicants, noting that local residents paid a processing fee of approximately PKR 13,000, while overseas Pakistanis contributed $50. Following this auction, the CDA plans to expand its scope by auctioning residential plots in other sectors, including I-12 and C-15, catering to both domestic and international investors.

CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired a review meeting to evaluate the balloting process for Sector C-14. The meeting underscored the substantial response from both overseas Pakistanis and local applicants. According to a press release, the CDA intends to publish a preliminary list of applicants on its official website by January 3. Applicants will be provided a two-day window to raise objections, after which the final list will be prepared, ensuring transparency in the allocation process.

The CDA has also reaffirmed its commitment to expedited development in Sector C-14, aiming to hand over possession to buyers before the conclusion of the 10-month installment payment plan. On the same day, the CDA chairman held a meeting with the chief operating officer of IESCO to address critical infrastructure requirements, including the establishment of grid stations for Sector C-14 and its neighboring areas.

The prioritization of overseas applicants reflects a strategic approach to attract foreign investment and aligns with global practices, supporting the growth of Islamabad’s real estate sector and enhancing investor confidence.
