ISLAMABAD: The development work on Sector I-15 is going to start soon as the civic body received 42 expressions of interest from various contractors.
This was divulged by officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in a statement on Monday.
Officials further disclosed that the firms who had filed applications in response to an advertisement from CDA would be required to complete a pre-qualification process. The process is likely to be completed within a week after which the tenders would be issued.
CDA had sought applications from firms registered in at least category 1 or above with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) for infrastructure development of Sector I-15.
Officials told that the CDA has set up a special committee to shortlist firms which have applied. The committee is probing various aspects of the companies including financial capability, equipment inventory, and human resource, experience as well as their market reputation.
Sector I-15 was announced back in 2005 with some 10,290 plots of different categories and sizes. The sector was announced to accommodate the low-income residents of the federal capital. Even though the plots have been allotted, development has been delayed for years.
