Peshawar: Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has stepped up to convince the departments of other provinces for contributing in the development of merged districts. In regards to this, K-P government will submit a spending plan at the 9th National Finance Commission (NFC).
The decade long FATA Development Programme proposed a spending plan worth Rs1 trillion. However, a divergence of opinion among provinces was seen over the committing of three percent of 9th NFC Award for the development of KP’s tribal region.
KP has been asked to come up with a detailed spending plan which should incorporate need assessment. Sindh’s finance secretary has identified the need for work and cash plan for KP. The spending of Rs100 billion every year which comes down to Rs8 billion per month should be clarified. The analysis should be placed at the same forum within a month.
KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra agreed to submit a spending plan soon for the facilitation of decision making and secure commitments from provinces.
