Islamabad: In a meeting held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters, the civic agency’s chairman Amir Ali Ahmed and the commission finalised documents for the request for proposal (RFP) for hiring of a consultant to review capital’s master plan.
The 70 page report was prepared by a subcommittee headed by the commission member Asad Mehboob Kayani.
Talking in regards to the consultant’s technical work, it will also be conducting studies on socio-economic issues, transportation, environment, water resources, revenue generation models, vertical construction, unauthorised slums and constructions, cultural heritage preservation, sustainability and sanitation. A preliminary report on these is expected to be shared within 60 days to be presented for input to the federal government. Overall, 120 days will be given to the consultant for the completion of their studies, provided the federal government approves.
CDA has decided to develop a portal linked with its website. It will serve the purpose of updating citizens with review of the master plan while seeking their proposals. A public hearing to take public’s input will be called in the next two weeks.
