RAWALPINDI: To facilitate the residents, the Rawalpindi district administration has announced to set up 16 Ramzan Bazaars, ensuring a steady supply of everyday commodities at reasonable prices.
The initiative is being carried under the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.
According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Captain ® Anwar-ul-Haq, the plan was finalized after consultation with all relevant departments in order to provide relief to the masses during the holy month.
As per the officials, the shops would guarantee fair business transactions without adulteration and profiteering. For this purpose, the officials are directed to document the sale and purchase of food items.
The DC further said that the prices of basic commodities like flour will be subsidised in these Ramzan Bazaars. Steps will also be taken to curb the hoarding of sugar.
