Islamabad: A meeting of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) chaired by Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed was held recently. Approval of construction of 1.5 lakh housing units within various cities of Punjab till December 2019, under the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme has been given.

Process of land acquisition has been expedited in the cities of Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Chiniot, Jhelum, Layyiah, Sargodha, Bhakkar and Quaidabad.

The receiving of applications of low cost houses for respective cities will commence post Eid-ul-Fitr. Approvals of out plans and infrastructure developments in support of the construction of housing schemes will also be started.

The meeting was attended by PHATA Director General Liaquat Ali Chattha and others.
